Yeah, so Provincials was fun. We got up insanely early, caught the first ferry out of Dodge, and made it to Mishra’s in time to wait around for the tournament. Jeff and Nathaniel were there, so like John’s article says we had a strong Victoria crew vying for the coveted playmats.

So I had decided for a while that I wanted to go to Provincials. I don’t get many chances to go play in Van and this one was going to work out for me so I didn’t want to miss it. Well with Champions of Kamigawa finally for sale at all card shops it was time for the Limited events to start up to fill the gap between the release of the set and them becoming Type 2 legal. I’d been playing FNM at Wally’s, a shop on Hastings, and they held a Champions of Kamigawa Post-Release Tournament.

Sage won the die roll, and opened with spirit mirror, then ana sanctuary, followed by kiki jiki. Ghazban ogre was phased out, and a purelaced veteren bodyguard was put under ice cauldron. He then shrapnel blasted me four times. Due to a new ruling, I ended up losing the second game as well.
