I recently got a digital camera, and I figured, what better place to use it than to do a pictorial tourney report at YJ? New sets are always good times, and this one was pretty welcome as far as I’m concerned, since I haven’t really liked Lorwyn block.

When I heard Canadian nationals was in Ottawa this year and that ex-Victoria magic player Charles Starling was currently living in Ottawa, I was definitely down to hit up the tournament this year.

Well let me tell you. I opened this word document to write me an article. Big plans.

You stare at it for hours. Sometimes it doesn’t make sense, sometimes it makes you want to break your computer screen and burn your cards… and sometimes it laughs at you.

Next to Unglued drafting, two headed giant is the most fun that I’ve had in Magic. I’m a very social player, and this format lends itself well to those of us who like to chew the fat as much as we like to play.

Me: Sorry Darryl but I think you still make a few too many mistakes to top 8 at this level.

Darryl: But I only make mistakes when I play!

First off, I have to say I really enjoyed the 2-Headed Giant format. It was a ton of fun and a nice change from all the extended/standard of late.

I don’t know how many of you followed Craig Stevenson’s “Sealed Revealed” series on SCG, or have followed the current “Sealed Revealed II,” but I know that I did, and I found them quite useful. Since I’ve been practicing for the sealed deck PT: London Qualifier on April 30th with whoever will take the time to make a sealed deck in MWS and play it, I figured this would be some good practice.
