Good friends are my number one draw for Magic and I don’t think that will ever change.

Dave Herder asked me the night before regionals how I could keep doing it. Work until 11 at FNM, then eat, do some prep, and maybe drink and party until about 3am, then sleep for 2hours and go play a tournament in Vancouver. I replied that I felt I really had no choice. Even if I was off work at 6pm the day before my trip to Vancouver I would still probably stay up until the wee hours with excitement.

So at this year’s nationals qualifier event (regionals) our playtest group decided that combo was due for a comeback in standard.

A Pictorial Report of PTQ Austin

So this PTQ started brewing in my mind about a month ago or so while I was out painting Jason Gray’s house. We were sitting around and Jason was like i’m going out east in october and if the times work out we should go to Austin, and I was like yeah! lets go win this PTQ!

I applied to be a judge at Canadian Nationals, and John Carter picked me among 3 judges from BC to fly out to Toronto. Will, Max, and I were the lucky ones, and we all flew out within two rows of each other on the same plane.
